style="text-align: justify;">Images of HTC Amaze 4G were leaked online before this smartphone was released. On 26th September 2011, this smartphone was officially announced by T-Mobile at Mobilize 2011. So what does HTC Amaze 4G look like and what does it offer? Here’s a sneak peek for our tech buffs:

HTC Amaze 4G Display

HTC Amaze 4G contains a 4.3inch qHD super LCD touchscreen of 960 x 540 pixel resolution. The screen brightness is expected to be comparable to other smartphones. HTC Amaze 4G looks similar to the Sensation 4G, in terms of its form factor. With curved edges and a recessed front, this device looks sleek and should fit into the palm of the hand easily. The left side of the device houses the microUSB port while the right side contains the volume rocker and the camera keys. The rear of the HTC Amaze 4G has a soft touch at the top and bottom, with a shiny metal portion in between. This smartphone has a solid build and feels sturdy enough. It is available in two colors, black and white.

Processor and Memory

HTC Amaze 4G runs on a 1.5Ghz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor. This processor will definitely speed up operations on this device. The smartphone has 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.

Features

This device uses the Android Gingerbread OS and the familiar HTC Sense UI 3.0. T-Mobile’s fast and upgraded HSPA+ network is expected to touch speeds up to about 42Mbps. Most functions are quick on the interface and there is hardly any lag. This smartphone contains an NFC (near-field communication) chip. Several interesting apps are expected to be available on HTC Amaze 4G.

Camera

It was rumored that HTC Amaze 4G would provide a really fantastic camera experience and indeed this is so. This smartphone has an 8MP camera, with dual LED flash at the back of the device. There is also a front facing 2MP camera for video calls. Not only is there a dedicated camera button, there is also a video button. Full HD video recording at 1080p is also promised on this device. Thanks to zero shutter lag and a backlit sensor, image quality is superb, even under poor light conditions. With features like SmartShot and PerfectPics, users will be able to choose the best photo from those they have taken and organise them in their display.

Orders for HTC Amaze 4G, earlier touted as HTC Ruby, began from October 10. This smartphone can be purchased at T-Mobile stores and from other dealers. Currently, HTC Amaze 4G is available at $259.99 with a new two-year contract. This price is arrived at after a $50 rebate.

With Samsung’s Galaxy S II also releasing on the same day, there was a great deal of speculation about the device which would steal the day. However, HTC Amaze 4G appears to have lived up to its name.

Motorola Devour Review

Motorola

Android

Motorola Droid

smartphone

Motorola Devour presents a sturdy look, coupled with some great features for users. Social networking on this device is easy. Released in 2010, this Android device looks bulky but performs well on many counts. However, is this slide device on Verizon Wireless an offering from Motorola that is going to excite customers as much as the Motorola Droid did? Read on to find out more.

Motorola Devour Design and Quality

Motorola Devour, shaped similar to the Droid looks like a block and feels relatively heavy in the hand. This device does fit into the pocket but its shape causes a bulge. However, this weighty smartphone with rubber edges feels solid in the hand. The display on this aluminum metallic smartphone is dominated by a responsive 3.1″HVGA capacitive touchscreen that has a pixel resolution of 320х480 pixels. Colors look bright and text is clear and legible on the screen. Below the screen there is an optical trackpad and other capacitive controls include Home, Menu and Back. While the volume rocker and voice command activator are located to the right of the device, the charging port is on the bottom left. The top of the Motorola Devour houses the power button and headphone jack.

Specifications

Motorola Devour runs on a Qualcomm MSM7627 processor at 600 MHz. It has RAM 256MB and ROM 512MB. There is support for extra storage upto 32GB.

Features

This smartphone runs on Android 1.6 OS, a more outdated version of the software, considering recent updates that have taken place. However, with valuable additions from Motorola, many of the updated features are found on the Motorola Devour. Navigating between homescreens and entering applications is smooth on this device.
MotoBlur is a very useful feature that allows users to integrate information from social networking sites such as Twitter, MySpace and Facebook. This not only saves time but also looks more efficient and works faster.
Further, with Verizon’s EV-DO Rev. A facility, web browsing is quick and smooth. Gmail, Google Talk and Google Maps can all be accessed on this device. Other connectivity options on this device include WiFi and Bluetooth
Multimedia options on the Motorola Devour are good. One can listen to songs on YouTube or make use of applications that cater to media. Sound quality is quite good, both on the speaker and headphones. Verizon has apps like V Cast Music with Rhapsody that allows users to download songs.
Messaging features are standard and call quality on this device is good.

Keyboard

The keyboard on the Motorola Devour is better than that on the Droid, consisting of well spaced out keys. However, the Spacebar is squashed between the V and B keys and even the Shift and Tab key are not present on the left but on the right, requiring some time to get used to it. Also, the keys are not too tactile.

Camera

Motorola Devour contains a 3MP camera, with special effects available for editing photos. The camera lacks a flash and has fixed focus. Picture quality is decent but zooming in while shooting images often results in blurry shots.

Battery

The Motorola Devour has battery life comparable to other smartphones and can usually last through a day of usage before it needs to be charged again.

While the Motorola Devour seems to perform well, there are issues regarding its size for those who are looking for something sleek. However, this device does provide good web facilities and social networking opportunities.

3 Reasons to choose the iPhone

Apple

Iphone

Mobile

iPhone

Apple's iPhone

choose the iPhone

smartphone

→

Smartphones have exploded in popularity over the last few years. They used to be clunky devices only business people carried. But now everyone seems to have one. You may feel overwhelmed if you’re thinking about getting into the smartphone world. No one can blame you for that! There are a lot of choices, so picking the right one isn’t always easy. But you should consider Apple’s iPhone, especially if you’re new to the mobile technology world. Here’s 3 reasons why.

Sure, these days most smartphones have evolved from their geeky roots into devices most consumers can operate without a problem. But the iPhone is the easiest. It’s user interface is absolutely zen when compared to Android’s. Just rows of icons. Want to open a program? Just tap an icon. No widgets or feeds mucking up the home screen. And that zen simplicity extends to the phone’s hardware. An industrial-looking slab of metal and glass. One button on the front, volume switches and a headphone input on the sides. Pressing the front button takes you to the home screen, no matter where you are. No bells and whistles here, because you don’t need them. The iPhone includes everything you need to have a solid experience with it. Nothing more, nothing less.

2. It’s got the biggest app selection on the planet

Apps play a big role in determining the quality of a phone’s user experience. No one wants to spend their hard earned cash just to play with the apps a phone ships with, like the calculator. Apple’s iPhone connects to the iTunes app store. That’s the biggest application marketplace in the world. Anything you could possible want from an app is available for the iPhone. Many of them are free, and very well put-together. Personal information managers, calendars that put the one your desk to shame, books and movies. And some of the games are amazing! If you want it, iTunes has got it. And there’s no need to buy them again if you upgrade to a new iPhone. Your iTunes account remembers what you’ve purchased, and easily loads it onto your new phone.

3. The iPhone’s support base is gigantic

Knowing you can get help when you need it is important, especially when you’re dealing with a new piece of technology. And Apple’s support is second to none. They’ll make sure you get the help you need when you need it. Apple has numerous avenues you can use to get help, both in-person and online. And because there are so many iPhone users out there, help is just a quick trip to a search engine away. People have been chatting about their iPhones on the internet for years. And there are countless iPhone fan sites online. So, if you’re having a problem, there’s a good chance someone else as the answer.

Apple iPhone 4 – Review

Mobile

iPhone

Apple iPhone 4

iPhone 4

iPhone 4 review

smartphone

iPhone 4 may not make you go wild, still the phone hosts enough in it which makes it another great product coming out from Apple’s factory. Read below to know more about the latest offering from Apple.

iPhone 4 Design and Display

Though Apple dubs iPhone 4 as the thinnest smartphone available in the market, yet we found that the phone is thicker around the edges. As compared to 3GS the iPhone4 is thinner with no plastic on its exterior. The front and back of the phone is made of glass which is supposedly harder than plastic. Between the rear and the front you can find an aluminum strip which covers the entire phone and the metal trim serves as antenna for the phone.

The display of the iPhone is simply outstanding. The 3.5″ TFT capacitive touch screen is capable of displaying 16M colors and boasts of a screen resolution of 960×640 pixels, which is much higher than previous iPhones. Very few smartphones available in the market can match the display resolution of the iPhone 4. With such a high screen resolution the colors are more vibrant and sharp.

The screen has a scratch resistant surface with an accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate. It also has a proximity sensor for auto turn off and with such high resolution screen, watching videos or playing games is a real treat.
On the front of the phone you will find the Home button while outside it you can find the standby button along with the new microSIM card slot. We found the volume control buttons and the home key to be firmer. Being firm, the risk of the buttons being accidently pressed is eliminated to a great extent.

iPhone 4 Technical Specifications

iPhone 4 is powered by 1 GHz Apple A4 processor and the phone operates on iOS 4. iOS 4 is one of the most up-to-date OS, and the latest feature added in the OS is that of multitasking, which lets you switch between multiple apps without closing anyone one down.

Another new feature in the OS is folders. This feature organizes all your application in separate folders. This frees your home screen from being packed with too many pages. The lack of memory card slot, however, is one of the biggest disappointments of the phone.
<p

The phone has support for 2G (GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900), 3G (HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100), EDGE and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. There is support for Bluetooth 2.1 along with A2DP profile. Because of the phone’s redesigned antenna we found that sometimes there is a drop in signal. We were highly disappointed to find out that there is no FM radio in the phone. The phone supports a wide range of audio and video formats.

<a

The main camera is of 5 mega-pixels. If you think that the resolution is low, then you need not to be disappointed. The camera is equipped with an illuminated sensor which allows more light to pass through the lens of the camera, thereby helping you to click sharp pictures of 2592 x 1944 pixels (max).

<a

The camera is equipped with touch focus and geo-tagging facilities. You can also record videos at 720p@30fps. But you cannot upload video in full 720p quality unless you download iMovie apps.

iPhone 4 Accessories

Apple gives its users a host of accessories along with the iPhone. Some of the standard accessories apart from charger are earphones, headphones and USB power adapter.

<img

The talk time reduces to 7 hours when the phone operates on 3G. Battery life of the phone is quite impressive.
<p

The coming LG device, which is a smartphone, will be the first device with Moorestown chip.

Intel’s present Atom processor has been codenamed as Moorestown, “Intel and LG have a common goal and this is to introduce a new and rich internet experience in various cell phone devices with the functionality of the present day high-end smartphones,”

Ashok Kumar, who is an analyst at Collins Stewart, says in this connection: “The basic factor to get Intel chips which will run on almost all well-known PC software is to reduce power consumption even lesser than the Atom chip which is being used in many Netbooks nowadays.”

“This will be directly housed in a smartphone,” says Kumar. Many high-end laptops are available with Intel mobile processors that have 25 to 35watts thermal envelope.”

However, the question rises whether Moorestown will be able to get silicon energy thrift for sometime. We have to see mobile phone suppliers like Texas Instruments and Qualcomm. It has been recently disclosed by Toshiba that it’s using Snapdragon chip from Qualcomm in its coming cell phone version.
<div
