Fastest Text Message
Samsung Telecommunications America and Swype, a technology for an innovative kind of text input, set a guiness world record together. The record was for the fastest text message sent on a touchscreen cellphone by using Swype on Samsung Omnia.
The record was set by Franklin Page, residing in Seattle, WA and a new employee of Swype, who typed the official phrase set by the Guiness Records for records set in relation to text messages – “The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human”. Page typed the message within 35.54 seconds, claiming the new record set with the help of Swype, as the fastest text on a touch screen cell phone. Stuart Claxton, who is an official adjudicator for the Guiness World Records, judged this particular record. In addition to that, Samsung mobile managed to shoot a commercial for Samsung Omnia II, and had claxton and Page feature in it.
