Sony Ericsson C903: A few minor glitches but lots of style

Sony Ericsson C903

Sony Ericsson C903 phone draws some of its inspirations from the Sony T-Series with its lens covers and point and shoot feature, and it can rightly be said that the phone is more of a camera –phone as compared to the importance and dominance of all other features. The phone has all the characteristics that would make it a fashionable phone among the top classes. From the GPS application to other fashionable qualities such as the large screen clear display and slider along with the chic colors of glamour red and black that the model comes in completes the entire package of an elegant phone.

This model is more or less an upgrade of the C902 and thus has similar features and functions. The screen size for instance is made bigger and the GPS is included thus making the C902 a little out of date now. Actually, the Sony Digicam is the look that the phone sports for this model. This helps in the increasing of the saleable qualities of the phone making it an instant success for the tech-buffs.

The main features that make the phone a little different from the C902 and a great success on its own, in other words its pros include:

1. The Camera- This is 5MP AF and has a dual LED flash. Other Sony camera features that the phone also has included, smile detection, face detection and lens cover.

2. The Screen – The screen is a huge success in terms of it being 2.4 inches in length and what is better is that it comes scratch resistant.

3. GPS – The phone has a built in system for geographical tracking and navigation software.

4. Messaging – The phone features the characteristic of threaded messages appearing

Other user friendly features that the phone features includes options for easy and smart dialing, Bluetooth application with A2P, there are also special keys for the Camera and the Gallery outside the keypad.

However, while reviewing the phone, there are also disadvantages of the phone that had been noticed. Firstly, the video recording quality is reduced considerably to QVGA resolution. This feature is a major setback, especially in a phone model that is stereotypically a camera-phone as its major feature. Also, what was noticed was that the slot for the M2 card is under the battery cover that poses as discomfiture for most users. This results in one of the major causes that makes the phone a little less user-friendly.

There are also some other features that become more evident after having used the phone, for instance there have been complaints about that very glossy surface of the phone that is considered to be extremely fashionable, apparently the surface is susceptible to fingerprints that ruins the entire look of the phone. The stand for the phone is another feature that seems to be an afterthought and thus badly produced by the makers. Another major mistake on the part of the company was to give the cover for the USB port a miss. This is almost heretical in the age of the mobile phone competition.
