iPhone 3G S
The Apple iPhone which has got so many fans around the world, is stepping into its third generation model which made its debut during the WWDC 2009 keynote. This version which hits the stores on June 19, seems to have a faster processing and extended battery life, more memory and much more features. Looks have not changed from the previous models but both 16GB and 32GB will come in white and black versions.
Speed
This new model is assumed to have a better speed performance as stated by Phil Schiller , Apple’s senior Vice President of the worldwide product marketing, where in the “S” in iPhone 3GS ( “S” stands for speed) will be much faster in so many ways. Faster processing means quick loading of apps, and it also uses AT&T 3G network for web browsing.
Though the hardware metrics of the processor are not yet known, it is known to work twice as fast as the previous two iPhones. Though it is claimed so we have to wait and watch the 3GS and check how fast it is!! Also the much awaited zippier 3G speeds are well on their way but this can be rolled out only by 2011.
Battery life
Coming to the battery life of the iPhone , lets start with the first one. The very first iPhone was almost acceptable, but the iPhone 3G falls short of words to be explained about. You would be lucky enough to have your battery remaining after a heavy day of use. This being the state of iPhone 3G, th eiphone 3G S offers some hope.
As said by Schiller it should offer 9 hours of Wi-Fi battery life , 10 hour on video playback and 30 hours on audio playback, 12 hours 2G talk time, and 5 hours 3G talk time. We have to wait until the product unveils you would get to know much more information.
Camera
Until now in all the iphones the camera seems to be good but cannot be rated to be the best or great. The picture quality is pretty decent but there are not much editing features that are available in the previous iphones. Only minimalist shooters were using this camera and all others were thinking as if Apple is “dumbing down” the iPhone camera.
But coming with 3 megapixels the iphone 3GS offers wide range of settings like white balance, exposure, low –light sensitivity, and macro- mode for closer shots. The feature like autofocus will also is also introduced which worked well in the keynote and so are just keeping are fingers crossed to test it ourselves.
Video recording
Though there is a mention of this being included in the 3G S, but Apple doesn’t seem to respond positively to its introduction in the next iphone. So we cannot think of this happening anytime in the near future.
But whatever it is the camera has improved a lot to 2 MP which will again has made the enthusiasts of iPhones happier.
Voice Control
With all the negative reponses that Apple has got for not including the voice dialing in iPhone, Apple has now been able to introduce it in iPhone 3G S which is much more than expected. This is much beyond comparison with normal apps which provides voice dialing features. Apart from voice dialing it also possible to activate you ipod and listen to the song which you wanted by just telling the song name.
With all the new stuffs it should be a great idea to buy iPhone 3G S if incase you don’t have one.
