New spam worm busts open Gmail CAPTCHA

Recently, researchers discovered a new spam worm which automatically cracks the Google’s CAPTCHA and creates multiple Gmail accounts. All these Gmail accounts are automatically sent to the hackers for their spamming purpose and once if Google find these things happenings then it automatically blocks the IP of that particular machine which is infected by this worm.

The worm is named as W32.Gaptcha.Worm and it follows a series of steps in creating multiple Gmail accounts. First of, it connects to the server and checks for internet connection and once if found it is connected to the internet, it automatically runs the Internet Explorer and opens the signup page of Gmail for account creation.

Remote decoding is carried out where various fields such as first name, last name and etc. is filled and CAPTCHA code is deciphered and sent back to the worm. By this way the worm, W32.Gaptcha.Worm continuously creates Gmail accounts till Google identifies and blocks the particular machine with its IP address.

Till now there is no comment about the threat from the side of Google and it is known to everyone that anti-spamming techniques are frequently updated by Google to provide high security. This type of worm is very helpful to those hackers who involves in spamming and other illegal activities.
