Is There A DRM Built In Chip In The New iPod Shuffle?

Recently a chip has been discovered inside the new iPod Shuffle headphones. It is thought that this chip is a necessary device for the headphones to work.

It is also known that the chip will be licensed to a third party manufacturer. These headphones of course will not work in the absence of this chip. The new iPhone headphones also are integrated with remote and mic.

Not Working

The iPod Shuffle also has a problem that it won’t work much without the inline remote. Without these, the iPod can only be switched on and switched off, that too with force. Whereas all other previous versions of iPods available in the market provide complete operational functions, either click wheels or touch screens.

No Convenience

Though the ‘remote’ thing is more convenient to control devices, but to great disappointment the new iPod Shuffle is nothing like convenient with these ear buds. Especially if they are missing, the iPod shuffle is just trouble.

These specific ear phones are not gaining much welcome, as since the other ear phones available at the market will not work with the iPod. It is speculated that this new iPod will not gain a good market with these DRM chip specified earphones.
