Apple Mac Pro

Apple’s new Mac Pro with its 12 processing cores brings about 50% higher performances in comparison to the previous generations of Apple Mac. The latest features coming from the quad-core and 6-core Intel Xeon processors have come up with ATI graphics as well as new options through which 512GB solid state drives or SSD can be worked through. The new Mac Pro calls forth to amazing delivery of work along with expanding capabilities that demands great professionalism. The user is going to be extremely pleased with the precision and power exuding from the Mac Pro. This has been so far, the most powerful Mac that has been configured and modeled under Apple. Apple’s senior VP, Phillip Schiller, has commented that the 12 plus cores is meant to outperform any of the previous Macs that has been produced. The rates of improvement are indeed as high as 50% with over a billion possible configurations that can be experienced through the current features.

Now customers can recreate whatever they desire accordingly! The performance is going to be generated with highly advanced quad core and six core Intel Xeon processors. The running speed goes up to 3.33 Ghz along with multi-core processing units. The single core can have space up to 12MB worth sharing. This comes with improved efficacy as well as high end processing speed coming through the new designs and features.

The faster memory bandwidth along with super fast processing unit brings integrated memory control, memory unit and wonderful processing speeds. The systems come with an integrated memory controller that creates all the difference. The Hyper-threading creates about 24 virtual cores along with the dynamic Turbo Boost. The processor speeds up to 3.6 Ghz along with ATI Radeon HD 5770 graphics processor. This has up to 1 GB of memory and customization that can configure some of the greatest and fastest ATI Radeon HD 5870 with 1 GB of memory space. Mac Pro has customized options that have brought a 512GB SSD with ultimate reliability and lighting fast processing options.

There are quick ways to install the SSD drives along with the system’s internal drive bays. The new Mac Pro is efficient in multifarious ways and brings random disk performance along with doubly faster average performance. The standard disk drive would not come close to what is going to be experienced here. The Mini DisplayPort output makes way for amazing new features that allows the user to enjoy these fully.

The 27-inch iMac screen is causing problems to users in a big way. A few weeks have passed ad no remedy yet been found. Apple’s support board received around 3000 replies discussing various options and opinions compiling over 200 pages and aggregating 4,00,000 views from all over. For Apples management this has become a real hard nut to crack.

Apple are still bent on doing their pondering but silently. They did respond with a half heated solution that left much desired. Obviously that never worked many users. The experienced opinions and options helped to workout a lame janky sort of a fix that has come handy and eliminates the problem for a short while. It is described to work as:

You go to settings, click on the expose and spaces and locate the Active Screen Corners Portion of Expose; using options, set one corner of your screen to “Put Display to Sleep”. The next time your screen flickers, activate this hot corner to put display to sleep for a few seconds – when it is back it will stay comfortable for a few hours.

Another way out tried is to restart your computer again and it works for a while, But starting and closing is cumbersome time wasting. The problem is probably due to overheating of iMac. It has been noticed that iMac becomes red hot during flickering. I received a replacement but the issue still persists.

The next generation PCs with speeds as fasts as 1000 GHz ( 1 terahertz) are now a reality with the help of a new sonic device says the scientists at the University of Nottingham. This new sonic device, ‘saser” is the sonic equivalent to the laser.

This device is capable of producing a very intense beam of uniform sound waves on a scale that is as small as nono. The working of this device goes as follows. Their saser produces a beam of photons which travel through a tiny manmade structure called superlattice unlike laser that travel through an optical cavity.

When these photons are stimulated by some power source, they tend to multiply at a greater rate bouncing back and forth and when they come out of the lattice they come out in the form of an ultra-high frequency beam.

Thus the high frequency producing capability of saser has opened space for variety of applications including high accuracy scanning, extremely fast processors and also examining of nano circuits for faults.

Security has always been a great concern for windows users with so many threats emerging every day. Panda Security, publishers of Panda Internet Security and Panda Antivirus, has come with a new security protection – the Panda Cloud Antivirus beta.

The Panda Cloud Antivirus beta uses the cloud computing technology, which they call as Collective Intelligence, to detect root kits, viruses, malware and heuristics. According to the publishers, the Panda Cloud Antivirus beta is able to identify any malware in real time.

They say that its security can identify new malware in just six minutes and claims that it handles more than 50,000 new samples every day. The Panda Cloud Antivirus acts by first classifying the threats into executables and non-executables. The executable ones are the ones that need immediate attention and the other ones that can be checked later even when the computer is idle.

The new program uses about 50 MB on the hard drive and about 17 MB of RAM. From the system resources point of view, the cloud computing makes sense but what about security when the comp is not connected to the Internet? Senior research adviser at Panda Security Pedro Bustamante says that the new system breaks down the traditional antivirus and when the computer is not connected to the Internet; a local cache of Collective Intelligence is maintained.

He said that the Panda Cloud Antivirus is meant for Windows XP and Windows Vista and will have a planned support system for Windows 7; all these are free.

Dell has launched an inkless printer named Wasabi PZ310, which is compatible with iPhone. The mini is just 4.8 inches x 2.8 inches x 0.9 inches in size and weighs only 7 ounces.

This remarkable product is for those who use their mobile phone other than calls and messages. Wasabi is attached/connected with a mobile set or a laptop through USB or Bluetooth. It can take the printout of pictures in 2 inches x 3 inches.

Apart from its remarkably small size, its unique feature is that it is an inkless printer. Instead of ink, the printer uses Zinc imaging technique to sketch the print. The image or picture is sketched by embedding the paper with special yellow, cyan dye and magenta crystals. For this process, particular areas of the paper are heated up by the printer to imprint the picture.

Wendy Caswell, president of Zink Imaging remarked about the product and said, “The Dell Wasabi is the fourth product available using the Zink technology, with many more on the way, including those capable of making larger prints.”

The printer is now available in the market for sale. It is priced as $99 or 68 pounds, which is a promotional price tag; quite reasonable and accessible. After the promotional period, its regular price will be $149, i.e. 103 pounds.

Wasabi PZ310 is a unique and innovative product which many people were wishing to see for a long time. With Wasabi, new doors for inventions have been opened.

It has been revealed by Samsung on Thursday that it has developed the first 4-Gb DDR3 PC memory chip.

For this development Samsung has used its 50-nanometer circuit technology. Samsung says that this memory chip will consume less power than the present DDR3 products with high capacity.

DDR3 belongs to the group of SDRAMs technologies, and falls amongst numerous other DRAMs; Dynamic Random Access Memory. If we summarize the technology, DDR3 is an upgraded form of DDR2 SDRM.

We get the benefit of 30% power reduction in DDR3 comparing to DDR2 modules. On wider prospect, DDR3 holds the capability to transfer data at 800-1600 MHz, whereas DDR2’s capability is 200-400 MHz. Thereby meaning, DDR3 is eight times more efficient than its predecessor.

Kevin Lee, VP for technical marketing at Samsung Semiconductor, said, “We have leveraged our strength in innovation to develop the first 4-Gb DDR3, in leading the industry to higher DRAM densities.”

Samsung is aiming to introduce its new technology so that manufacturers use it to produce a new line of ‘green’ PCs.

This is a dual in-line memory used in 16GB modules, which includes RDIMM for servers, 8GB unbuffered DIMM for desktops and workstations, and for laptops, 8GB small-outline DIMM.

Soon, we will see all Samsung products with 50-nanometer process, as the company plans so. Samsung has already released a 50 nanometer 2GB DDR3 DRAM offered with 1 GB DDR3 DRAM option.

Samsung was reported to have its first on record loss. With this new technological adventure, it is thought that Samsung will be gaining back the market.
