Research In Motion has been able to give good numbers even in the bad economy, which is well beyond expectations. It has been able to sell 7.8 million BlackBerrys in this fiscal.

RIM has been able to match its analyst estimates of $3.43billion revenue as against its reported revenue of $3.42 billion for this quarter which is 52% more than the same quarter last year. The net income after tax liabilities comes to around $564.4 million or 98 cents per share, but the analysts projection was around 94 cents per share.

During the last quarter alone RIM has been able to add around 3.8 million new Blackberry customers, of which around 80 percent were consumers.

The current quarter, already blossoming with the release of Palm pre and this Friday will see the release of iPhone 3G S, RIM expects its revenue to be anywhere between $3.45 billion and $3.7 billion. And the easrings per share should be between 97 cents to $1.03.
