The recent business news is maybe a good indication that automobile manufacturing industries are now starting to cope up with the global recession period. With the help of government’s stimulus fund, Boston is planning to set up battery plants for cars and laptops in the U.S.
Report says that according to Boston Power CEO, Christina Lampre-Onnerud, Boston Power has filed its application for $100 million U.S.Dollar for this program and has lined up $9 million U.S. Dollar in state loans.
She believed that the stimulus money will give the investment community the shot in the arm to dare.
However, the competition for that battery loan money is being aim by the other 160 companies as well but the U.S. Energy Department is expecting to grant the loan this summer.
Boston Power is a prominent European battery company. In just a short period of four years time, Boston Power already established and operates three battery factories in Asia that manufactures batteries for Hewlett-Packard laptops. This serves as the blue print of the Boston Power company according to Ms. Lamprey-Onnerun.
Right now, the company had already chosen where they would put their factory in U.S.
Boston Power will be strategically place their factory to Massachusetts for they believe that Massachusetts will make a good location because the state are offering incentives and was close to Boston Power’s research and development facility.
Many officials show some support to this Boton Power plan. In fact five Massachusetts officials including its governor are scheduled to this Monday’s press conference.

The interest of Boston Power to set up their battery factory would definitely open a lot of doors and job opportunities to many Americans. It is timely union of European and American that may help resolve the country’s problem on increasing numbers of unemployed Americans.
