Apple seems quite recession-proof in the days when many big players are looking for some ray of hope in the worldwide economic gloom.

The company has just announced reported its second quarter financial results as the best non-holiday quarter in the history of the company. Apple’s different products did quite well especially the iPod, iPhone and Apple iTunes store, but they had to witness a considerable drop in their Mac desktop and laptop sales. However, the company looks quite sarcastic towards new netbooks even now.

In second quarter earning conference, the company’s CEO Timothy D. Cook pointed some shots on small netbooks, saying:

We are not interested in them, as they offer nothing good except junky hardware, little screens, cramped keyboards and horrible software and we are not going to put all these things in our Mac.

One can do almost all the things with our iPhone or iPod touch what a netbook seems to offer. We will do it if we are able to produce a really innovative product that could offer all in actual that most of the current netbook makers associate with their products.

Apple guys may have their heads in the sand, or they want to develop such a thing secretly.
