Orange unveils new channel-partner programme

Orange Partner Programme announced at the Orange Indirect Business Channel Conference held in London its renewed and refreshed commitment to the Indirect channel specifying its focus on business and SME dealerships. The new scheme is due to be launched in the beginning of April and draws on the growing momentum of Orange which began in 2009 with record customer addition in the 4th quarter through both Direct as well as Indirect channels.

New video page adds comments highlight view and ratings improvements

Taking into consideration all the user feedback, Youtube.com have come up with a new video page and a preview of these features are available on their official YouTube blog site. According to user feedback, the majority voiced a need for a comments overhaul which should be added to the redesign process. What has been introduced is a “highlights view” which is a summarization of the top rated comments, uploader comments, video responses and recent comments on a single front page story. Lockheed Martin’s latest achievement

If you have been keeping up with the latest news about supersonic aircrafts you will be interested to know about the Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter vertical Landing, which was achieved very recently, on 18th March of this very year. This was the first time that this Supersonic machine actually achieved such a vertical landing and thus is one of the initial steps of the greater achievements to be made very soon. Being able to land into confined spaces was something that they have been trying to achieve and especially with an aircraft such as the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter which is almost a breakthrough as far as survival capabilities in extreme conditions is concerned.

The Judging Committee, consisting of world famous photographers, representators and curators of ruling international photographic  agencies, chose the winners. The winners were selected from the Committee, pre-selected from iStockphoto by various inspectors. according to Kelly Thompso, COO, iStock photo, this was their second year to help review nominees from the category, and that they are always ecstatic and more than happy to see the growth of such rising stars, with utmost skill and creativity.

Samsung Mobile and Swype Set New Guinness World Record

Fastest Text Message

Samsung Telecommunications America and Swype, a technology for an innovative kind of text input, set a guiness world record together. The record was for the fastest text message sent on a touchscreen cellphone by using Swype on Samsung Omnia.

The record was set by Franklin Page, residing in Seattle, WA and a new employee of Swype, who typed the official phrase set by the Guiness Records for records set in relation to text messages – “The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human”. Page typed the message within 35.54 seconds, claiming the new record set with the help of Swype, as the fastest text on a touch screen cell phone. Stuart Claxton, who is an official adjudicator for the Guiness World Records, judged this particular record. In addition to that, Samsung mobile managed to shoot a commercial for Samsung Omnia II, and had claxton and Page feature in it.

Opera Mini Submitted to iPhone

The fast-paced mobile browser, Opera Mini, is now a part of App Store iPhone. At the Mobile World Congress, it was declared that, Opera Mini was faster than Safari by six times. From hereon, we came to know about the
union of the browser and the iPhone. Therefore, it will be of great interest to observe the acceptance of the browser, since Apple is the king of the App Store, more so when we think of the usage of such web browsers on the particular store.

Orange scores hat-trick at the Mobile News Awards 2010

Mobile News Awards 2010

The 2010 Mobile News Awards has been bowled over by Orange, winning three industrial awards. It was rewarded as the best Large Retailer Company of the U.K. It won the award of The Best Innovative Science. CEO, Tom Lexander was felicited with Best Lifetime Achievement.

The very first score from their bundle of hattrick came in the form of the best Large Retailer of this year. It was judged for the first time by the total scores of  “Mystery Shopper“, a certain Mobile News. Orange ofcourse turned out as the glorius winner. It also won with tough competition the award for Social Life – best “Innovative Science“.

NIKON’S ARNOLD H. KAMEN RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS NAPET GEORGE LACROIX MEMORIAL AWARD

Nikon has added yet another feather to its cap. The company which has become legendary because of its photographic equipment  received an award honouring its achievements yet again. The vice president in charge of the operations and customer services, a man named Arnold H. Kamen was given the George LaCroix Memorial Award by the National Association of Photo Equipment Technicians or NAPET. This is the highest award given by them.

Opera launches Mini 5 Browser for Android

For those Android users who were perennially grumbling about when the Opera for Android would be releasing will not have to worry anymore because it is finally out for good. The company has recently announced the fact that Mini 5 is here for users of the Google phone, and  in beta.

Opera had released its versions for Windows Mobile as well as the Blackberry. Now it is available for download for the users of the Android phone as well.
