Panda introduces cloud-based free antivirus

Security has always been a great concern for windows users with so many threats emerging every day. Panda Security, publishers of Panda Internet Security and Panda Antivirus, has come with a new security protection – the Panda Cloud Antivirus beta.

The Panda Cloud Antivirus beta uses the cloud computing technology, which they call as Collective Intelligence, to detect root kits, viruses, malware and heuristics. According to the publishers, the Panda Cloud Antivirus beta is able to identify any malware in real time.

New spam worm busts open Gmail CAPTCHA

Recently, researchers discovered a new spam worm which automatically cracks the Google’s CAPTCHA and creates multiple Gmail accounts. All these Gmail accounts are automatically sent to the hackers for their spamming purpose and once if Google find these things happenings then it automatically blocks the IP of that particular machine which is infected by this worm.

The worm is named as W32.Gaptcha.Worm and it follows a series of steps in creating multiple Gmail accounts. First of, it connects to the server and checks for internet connection and once if found it is connected to the internet, it automatically runs the Internet Explorer and opens the signup page of Gmail for account creation.

Apple again sarcastic towards netbooks

Apple seems quite recession-proof in the days when many big players are looking for some ray of hope in the worldwide economic gloom.

The company has just announced reported its second quarter financial results as the best non-holiday quarter in the history of the company. Apple’s different products did quite well especially the iPod, iPhone and Apple iTunes store, but they had to witness a considerable drop in their Mac desktop and laptop sales. However, the company looks quite sarcastic towards new netbooks even now.

High Profile sites’ DNS hijacked in New Zealand

If you have a sharp memory and interest in hacking and cracking, you may easily remember the hijackings of Comcast, ICANN, Photobucket and some other high profile sites during the last year. If you don’t know about them, nothing to worry about as these kinds of happening quite frequently these days and sooner or later, you may get across with such an incident.

And lo! The Peace Crew, which is quite well-known as a website defacement group, has succeeded to hijacks the DNS of some high profile websites in New Zealand. According to Zone-H, it’s a SQL injection in Domainz.net that based in New Zealand. It redirects sites visitors to page that features anti-war messages and Bill Gates infamous photo.

Dot TK launches new URL- shortening service for Twitter

Considering these very importance of limited characters, DT TK has emerged with its new URL-shortening service named as TweaK that will shorten links into some domain name direct to make shortest possible links.

Dot TK’s Boss Joost Zuurbier says in this connection, “A short domain name and a six character suffix behind link identification are being used by various players of the current URL shortening industry, but with this new service links will be identified directly through domain names that will make almost every link six character shorter that you can currently seen from other such services.”
