The 2009 Google online marketing challenge is all about global university competition. This was launched last year in a bug way for undergraduates or even post graduate students with their hand-on exposure promised to be given to the dynamics of online marketing. The students will be working with their professors to team up on the effective marketing campaign for Google.

The teams will receive $200 for spending on the Google AdWords campaign. There are going to be a 3 week plan within which the masterminding and brainstorming has to be done. The campaign reports will be working with international judging through professors.

The biggest challenge this year was getting more teams and students from universities in the most significant ways. There are going to be 2,187 teams qualifying, coming from 57 countries in the world. They are going to represent only 36% increase in participation since the rate last year. The Challenge will definitely get more as the bigger universities keep participating in these campaigns getting onto higher levels of competition.
